Instagram Friday (1.25.2013)

It's Friday, it's Friday!  So you know what that means, right?  Instagram roundup! XD   My date for last Friday night. Ain't he a handsome fella? The scariest car wash EVER. Random ice that was on the ground. Looked pretty cool I thought. The ice skating rink (posted about this earlier in the week!) The Instagram version of my skating pic! Fancy lil Pepper :)  Peas and Carrots candy - strange and delicious! Mustache labels! I'm thinking I might use these on some soaps.. One of my new Hunger Games necklaces I picked up on clearance this week. Aaaand that's all folks! Happy Friday!

A Spiritual Pick-Me-Up

This popped into my head recently one night at church, while the choir was singing. (While I was playing the piano, in fact.)  As soon as I got to some paper I scribbled it down so I wouldn't forget it, and so I could share it. I'm calling it a 'Spiritual pick-me-up', because that's what I think it is.   And even if you're not in need of it now, it's still something amazing to ponder! I've debated elaborating further on these points, and I might still yet in the future, but as for now I'll just let them stand as is. ~*~ God is interested in you.   “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord : and he delighteth in his way.” Psalm 37:23 God is invested in you.   “For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.” 1 Corinthians 6:20 God is in love with you.   “The Lord hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love:

Ice Skating Adventure

When I was younger, I used to LOVE watching figure skating on TV. It's a beautiful sport, it really is, and I used to daydream about being able to glide across the ice as gracefully as the skaters I saw.   Unfortunately, I never had the opportunity to try my luck at ice skating. I roller skated (and roller bladed) quite often, but as there was a distinct lack of ice skating rinks in my area, my hopes of learning never came to be. And as time went, it became one of those things I said I would do 'some day'.  Fast forward to December of 2012.   I heard on the radio that there was an ice skating rink that had been set up at a nearby speedway as part of their Christmas events. I did some research, and found it was surprisingly affordable ($12 for the entire day, skate rental included). I mentioned it to a friend, who was just as excited as I was to find out about it, and we made plans to go. Our original plans kept getting thwarted, but lucky

Instagram Friday (1.18.2013)

It's Friday yet again! Hooray! And as always I have a few photos to share. :)  I love these little grow kits! These are for my co-workers, for Valentine's Day. Shhhh, don't tell! Making dishcloths/washcloths to replenish my supply (which was depleted at Christmas!) Snow! Not much, but still, snow!! :D More stitchery. "I will take it! I will take the ring to Mordor. Though...I do not know the way."  I love this necklace, and this scarf! I'm such a dork. But I have fun. XD And that's all folks! Happy Friday! See you next time!

Instagram Friday (1.11.2013)

This may in fact be the shortest Instagram round up ever. I only have three pictures to share. THREE. It has been quite a crazy week though. Anyway, here we go! I found Thor valentines at the Dollar Tree, and the Loki one is absolutely hysterical. I snickered so hard. Playing some Disney tunes on my piano while no one is home = awesomeness. I managed to find some time for some Beatles in there as well. :) And...that's it. Short and sweet this week. Happy Friday to you all!

Psalm 5

I may share some of my favorite Psalms from time to time here. They're some of my very favorite scriptures, for a variety of reasons.  Anyway, I read this Psalm not too long ago, and it's quickly become one of my favorites. So I decided it would be the first one I would choose to share here. "Give ear to my words, O Lord , consider my meditation. Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: for unto thee will I pray. My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O Lord ; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up. For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: neither shall evil dwell with thee. The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity. Thou shalt destroy them that speak leasing: the Lord will abhor the bloody and deceitful man. But as for me, I will come into thy house in the multitude of thy mercy: and in thy fear will I worship toward thy holy temple. Lead me, O Lord , in

Instagram Friday (1.4.2013)

Tis the first Friday of the new year! Hooray! It's also time for the first Instagram roundup! Double hooray!  Fiiiiiire.    My attire for the bonfire - still was cold at times. :/    Another of the fire. So pretty! My new Hobbit calendar. XD    Geeky soap-making materials.    I bought myself a sonic screwdriver torch. I love it!!    The first crafty endeavour of the new year - soap making! Pi soaps. Enough said. And that's a wrap.  Happy Friday!! XD

2013 - A Year of Good Things

One day while browsing Pinterest, I came across an idea I found very intriguing. The basic idea is this: Every time something good happens, write it down on a slip of paper. Put the slips of paper in a jar. Then, on New Year's Eve, dump out all the papers and re-visit all the good things that happened to you throughout the year.  I thought it was a marvelous idea, and so I have decided to do it. Only with a few modifications.  I decided that for my jar, I'm going to write down at least one good thing per day. Of course, I might write more, but I figure if I write one each day I'll at least have 365 things to read at the end of the year.  And thus, I've dubbed the year of 2013 'The Year of Good Things', because that's the outlook and mindset I'm trying to get into. I need things to fill my jar, so I'm going to be looking for the good things in every day, no matter how small or how silly they might seem to be.   A good thing is a go
