The Day the Water Bottle Attacked

It all began like any other morning.  I grabbed a bottle of water from the shelf in the fridge, tossed it into my bag, and headed out the door to work. I gave no special thought to the water bottle, until I arrived at the office and decided to take a drink.  As soon as I pulled the bottle from the bag I knew something was amiss.  Water is not hard. This bottle was.  The entire bottle was nearly frozen solid. It must have been cold in the fridge! I shrugged it off, deciding that it would melt soon enough, and decided to open it anyway for a sip. I twisted the cap, as per the usual bottle opening methods, and was promptly rewarded with a shower of ice cold water across my lap. The floor got a bit wet too, but I must confess I was more concerned with the cold spray that had gotten on ME. I will not even begin to divulge the sounds I may or may not have emitted at this event.  At any rate, I swiftly recovered, and decided to stick the bottle ...

Monsteriffic

I have a few new hat patterns in the works. If I ever get some free time (ha!), I'm hoping to get them written up and photographed to share here.  In the meantime, and while I figure out what I want to post next (it's probably going to be something about Free Comic Book Day), have a silly little story about a monster! Why I Will Die Alone With 57 Cats

I cleaned out some of my old emails today. In the process of doing that, I came across an email I had saved called 'Why I will die alone with 57 cats'. I'm going to update it a bit as I've probably forgotten what I said originally, but the plot will be the same.) Once upon a Thursday, as I got into my car to leave work, I discovered there was a little ball of fluff underneath my seat. I paid it no mind, of course, because it was merely a ball of fluff. Imagine my surprise when I realized that this was no ordinary fluff ball. This one was a menacing, nasty, evil, serial killer fluff ball.  And it was out to get me.  As soon as I was able, I sent off a message to one of my closest friends, informing her of what was happening. She laughed! Can you believe it?! She laughed at...

I Am Easily Amused

Very easily amused, it would seem. Need proof? Okay.  You know that little voice to text feature that's on most phones now? I decided that it would be fun to sing into it and see what happened. Lucky for me I have a friend who is used to such nonsensical stuff from me, so she was my victim on the receiving end of the texts.  Here's what went down. Actual song lyrics are in "" followed by the phone's interpretation. "Tonight we are young.." = hello we'll on yellow "Some nights I stay up cashing in my bad luck..." = so not to stay up cash in on my facebook "And I was like baby, baby, baby, noo!" = then others on babe babe babe babe in no hello "We're Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band.." = which 1000 pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band At this point I realized the phone was apparently learning , and I immediately called off any further experiments. Because the last thing I ...
