A few weeks ago, a friend of mine asked if I'd like to come over and test out some hairstyles she'd found on Pinterest. I agreed, and it was then decided that we should cook something we'd seen on the site too, and make into a sort of 'Pinterest Party'.
We decided to make the Crescent Pizza Rolls as it seemed fun, easy and delicious.
I'm not sure how many we actually ended up making, but I know we made a ton.
It was super easy too. We wrapped half a stick of mozzarella cheese with about three to four pepperonis in a crescent roll to make each one.
The instructions didn't say to, but we sort of smooshed the crescent dough around the edges of the cheese so it wouldn't leak out and make a huge mess.
I highly recommend doing this.
I have no idea what happened here. The flash totally blew out this photo and I, for unknown reasons, did not take another.
Here's our goodies in the oven! We baked them according to the pin's instructions. I think we left them a mite longer to brown a bit more. Really though, if you keep a close eye on them, you'll know when they're done.
Jaimie showing off how lovely they looked while cooking, haha!
We did alter in one way from the pin linked above. Once the rolls were done, we mixed some melted butter with garlic and Italian seasoning to brush across the tops. Jaimie said she read it one of the pins she saw for this recipe. We both thought it was a great idea.
And then, we ate them! With some marinara sauce for dipping, of course. Both Jaimie and I thought these tasted a lot like the stuffed pizza rollers from Pizza Hut...only better! They were soft and delicious, and I'm totally going to make them again.
And now for the hairstyles (which for the most part, were epic fails).
Jaimie tried a starburst braid on my hair.
Um, yeah.
She tried to tell me it wasn't THAT bad...but....
Also, this was hilarious because my hair was actually too long. She braided her way around my head and ended up with several inches of leftover. It was pretty funny to see her try to figure out what to do with it! :)
It was my turn then, so I attempted this braided bun style.
It was also bad. Very bad.
I'm not entirely sure where I went wrong here, honestly. But yes, it was very wrong.
I don't have any pictures of the next hairstyle Jaimie did on mine, for some reason. Oh well!
Next up was a fishtail style braid (which I'd never done before).
I'd say this one was a win. I actually liked how it turned out, and it wasn't too bad for a first attempt, I don't think!
Jaimie then did a half crown braid (sort of like the one in the link), and then curled some pieces of it with my curling wand. My hair didn't curl so well since I had already used a flatiron on it earlier in the day, but it still looked pretty!
And finally, I tried this braided hairstyle out. I also attempted to curl Jaimie's hair, but uh, it didn't work.
The style was pretty cute though. It wasn't perfect, but it wasn't terrible either.
That's all we had time for in this go round, but we're planning to do something similar to this in the future. Maybe we'll have better luck next time with the hairstyles, haha! :)
